This Hispano-Suiza H6C ‘Boulogne’ from 1924, once owned by Lieutenant Commander Glen Kidston, is truly a masterpiece of pre-war engineering, combining luxury with high-performance racing pedigree. The fact that Kidston was a member of the iconic ‘Bentley Boys,’ a group of affluent British racers who elevated Bentley’s reputation in the 1920s, further enhances the historical significance of this car. His 1930 victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans ties this Hispano-Suiza to one of the golden ages of motorsport.

C W Coachworks were honoured to collaborate with a team of great specialists to ensure the car’s restoration met the highest standards of originality and authenticity.

Presenting the restored Hispano-Suiza at the Royal Automobile Club, a place synonymous with automotive excellence, was a fitting celebration of its centenary. The restoration not only preserves the car but also honours the legacy of motorsport legends like Glen Kidston, ensuring that the elegance and engineering of the Hispano-Suiza H6C will inspire and captivate future generations.

Concours of Elegance PEBBLE BEACH, CALIFORNIA

After gracing the floor at the Royal Automobile Club to celebrate its centenary, the Hispano-Suiza embarked on its next grand adventure—flying across the Atlantic to Pebble Beach, California. There, it took its place on the most prestigious stage in the classic car world, judged alongside some of the most beautiful and rarest automobiles ever built.

Pebble Beach features 28 classes, each consisting of 6 to 8 exceptional vehicles, evaluated by a panel of three expert judges. Each judge selects their top three in class, and the winner of each class goes on to compete for the coveted title of Best in Show.

Concours of Elegance HAMPTON COURT PALACE, UNITED KINGDOM

The next stop for the Hispano-Suiza was the prestigious Concours of Elegance at Hampton Court Palace. We were honoured to be invited by Simon Kidston and Jonathan Wood as special guests—and even had the rare pleasure of driving along the Palace’s sweeping driveway, a truly unforgettable experience.

Once again, the Hispano-Suiza was in contention for Best in Show, narrowly missing out by just three votes to the exquisite Phantom of Love Rolls-Royce. Nevertheless, the car’s elegance and spirit did not go unrecognised.

"Proudly awarded the Spirit of Motoring Award and the top prize as Winner of the 1920s Class."
